The work is inspired by research from Glasgow University into why teenage gannets find particular colonies attractive, with a focus on colonies in Scotland, Wales and Germany. The artworks were produced as part of a 6-month artist residency funded by the AA2A programme in collaboration with De Montfort University.
I was fascinated with Dr. Jana WE Jeglinski’s research into the movements of immature gannets across colonies and I really wanted to illustrate and explain scientific research in a creative way.
The work comes with an individual hand written thank you note from Lucy. Each work is hand made by Lucy, in Leicester at her home or studio. All postage is via Royal Mail special delivery.
