Original mixed media abstract drawing and monoprint using drawing ink, printing ink, wax pastel, Indian ink, and genuine 24-carat gold leaf on Cartridge paper (150gsm). This artwork was inspired by research from Glasgow University into gannet colonies in Scotland, Wales, and Germany and why teenage gannets find particular colonies attractive.
The artworks were produced as part of a 6-month artist residency funded by the AA2A programme in collaboration with De Montfort University in 2018. I have since added to these works in 2020.
Size: 41.7 (w) x 59.2 (h) cm.
Please see the close-up images for details and note the slight abrasion of paper across the white silhouette of the bird where tape was added and then removed. Please be aware that this piece has gone through a printing press and therefore might display areas where the plate has pushed into the paper.
The work comes with an individual handwritten thank you note from Lucy. Each work is an original and hand made by Lucy, in Leicester at her home or studio. All postage is via Royal Mail special delivery.
