The Field Vole and the Barn Owl

Created in 2021 using emulsion, spray paint, and collage on 640gsm paper

In reference to research and discussions concerned with the decline of the field, bank and water vole and the Barn Owl. The vole is a food source for the Barn Owl and is in decline due to flooding. This piece uses colours and shapes inspired by all species including the different tail lengths of the voles.

Size: 31 x 38.9 cm

Exhibited at StudionAme as part of a solo exhibition to explore the effects of climate change on bird species. Working in collaboration with scientists and experts in the natural world from the British Trust of Ornithology and the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust.

This abstract artwork comes with an individual handwritten thank you note from Lucy. Each work is original and hand-made by Lucy, in Leicester at her artist studio.
