This artwork is inspired by the bee eater using mixed media to showcase its vibrant colouring, bubbling whistle song and habitat in sunny warm climates. The title is inspired by the bee eaters vibrant head colour and the name of the yellow paint used to colour match it.

Tag details: Leicester Museum | Bee Eater (species: Merops apiaster). Made into a 'skin' in September 1947. The date that the specimen became part of the permanent collection at New Walk Museum: 1992.

This abstract artwork comes with an individual handwritten thank you note from Lucy. Each work is original and hand-made by Lucy, in Leicester at her artist studio.
