A visualisation of birdsong, using monotype hand-printing techniques.

This original print was created in 2015 as part of a week-long artist residency at Fermynwoods Contemporary Art Sudborough Green Lodge. The vocalisations of the endangered bird species were recorded at Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in Jersey.

This work uses monotype print with drawing ink on cartridge paper and is supplied in a bespoke black wooden frame, ready to be hung with both D rings and mirror plates. The work is signed and dated. Size (with frame): 58 x 48 cm.

Monotype is a technique that involves drawing into ink and pressing the work onto paper by hand or through a printing press. Therefore, the work is similar to a drawing or painting and is considered a one-off.

The work comes with an individual hand written thank you note from Lucy. Each work is an original and hand made by Lucy, in Leicester at her home or studio. All postage is via Royal Mail special delivery.
